Number 1: Jasprit Bumrah is one of the two players who have won the Asia Cup not once, twice, but three times. He clinched it with India in 2016, 2018 and 2023.

Bumrah has done well in the tournament, too. In 2016 (T20), he took six wickets, while in 2018 and 2023 (ODI), he took eight and four scalps.

Number 2: Indian spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav is another one to have won the tournament thrice, in the same editions as Bumrah.

He was part of the 2016 squad but didn’t get to bowl, though he will still be considered as a winner. In the ODI editions wins of 2018 and 2023, he was proficient with ten and nine victims, respectively.

Number 3: Hardik Pandya is the third multiple-Asia Cup title holder of the 2025 squad, winning it with the team in 2016 and 2023.

Pandya was also part of the 2018 edition but withdrew due to a serious back injury in the first clash. In 2023, he scored 92 runs and took six wickets, while in 2016, he was just announcing himself to the world and did so with 33 runs and seven scalps.

Number four: Shubman Gill, whose inclusion in the 2025 squad caused a bit of uproar, has also won the tournament once before. In 2023, though it was in the ODI format, Gill scored 302 runs in six games at 75.50.

Number five: This will be the Indian skipper’s third Asia Cup and the second in the T20 format. He did well in 2022 but India didn’t win, while he featured in one game in 2023 ODI one and the team beat Sri Lanka in the final. (AP)

Number 6: Tilak Varma (L) won’t feel too out of place, given this is his second Asia Cup. He made his ODI debut in the 2023 edition but that resulted in just five runs against Bangladesh.
