Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha Shetty comes out in support of Dhanashree Verma after her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal, praising her candid interview.

Devisha Shetty, the wife of Indian T20I Suryakumar Yadav, has publicly offered support for Dhanashree Verma, actress and ex-wife of Yuzvendra Chahal, for recently sharing her side of the story about their divorce.
Shetty put up an Instagram story sharing a snippet of Dhanashree’s interview with Humans of Bombay and wrote, “So much respect and love for you.” Dhanashree and Chahal married in December 2020 and filed for divorce in early 2025, which was granted by the Bombay High Court in March.
Given the celebrity profiles of the couple — Chahal is an international cricketer with an active IPL profile, and Dhanashree is a popular dancer and an in-demand Bollywood star — the court proceedings and inside scoops about their broken relationship became media fodder quickly.
Chahal was the first to speak out. In an interview with Raj Shamani, he expressed his loneliness and cleared the air around him being a cheater.
Dhanashree was equally adept in her reply via the recent interview, opting for grace over controversy in sharing her side of the story.
“I feel like grief, true grief, true chaos in a marriage, it has to be understood between both parties. It has to be acknowledged, identified,” she said. “When you get married, there is love. It is love that gets two people together. But when you actually end it, sometimes it is a space of distrust. But that does not give you the power to disrespect. You need to maintain respect throughout.”
She was also asked about Chahal wearing a ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ t-shirt on the final day of their court hearing.
“You know that people are going to blame you,” Dhanashree said. “Before I had even known that this T-shirt stunt had happened, we were all aware that people were going to blame me for this. Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? (You should have sent it on WhatsApp, why wear the T-shirt?). How you behave on that particular day is a reflection of who you are as a person,” she added.
Chahal is currently out of all formats for India but is an important part of Punjab Kings in the IPL.
