Oval Invincibles are in the midst of an impressive Hundred season. They have won five of their six matches so far and currently are at the top of the standings with 20 points in the eight-team competition. One of the prime reasons for their run is the stunning form of England batter Jordan Cox who has racked up 256 runs at a strike-rate of 182.85 from six innings thus far.
Cox has three half-centuries from three consecutive innings the latest of which came on Thursday against Trent Rockets in a six-wicket win at The Oval. He scored an unbeaten 58 off 36 with the help of five fours and four sixes. With Sam Curran, who also hit a half-century, Cox stitched a 96-run stand for the third wicket.
Besides sitting at the top of the top run-getters list in the ongoing season, Cox has also hit the greatest number of sixes (18). He’s closely followed by Liam Livingstone of Birmingham Phoenix (211 runs, 17 sixes) at the second spot.
With an IPL mini auction set to be held later this year, the franchise must have taken note of his performances, and the 24-year-old could trigger a bidding war.
