Oman announced a 17-member squad on Tuesday for the upcoming T20 Asia Cup, which begins on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates.

Oman will begin its first-ever Asia Cup campaign on September 12 against Pakistan in Dubai, before facing the UAE and India in the group stage. The team will be led by experienced batter Jatinder Singh, who has played 64 T20Is and 61 One-Day Internationals.

Oman is coached by former Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batter Duleep Mendis, while former Mumbai cricketer and coach Sulakshan Kulkarni is the deputy head coach.

Though this is Oman’s first appearance at the continental event, it has featured in three T20 World Cup editions, in 2016, 2021 and 2024.
