The 2025 edition of the Duleep Trophy will be played between six teams from August 28 to September 15 across two different venues in Bengaluru. As many as four Asia Cup 2025-bound players are set to take part in this year’s tournament. West Zone and South Zone will feature directly in the semifinals, whereas North Zone, East Zone, Central Zone and Northeast Zone will take part in the quarterfinal matches as well.

India’s Test captain, Shubman Gill, was set to take the field for North Zone in their quarterfinal match against East Zone in Bengaluru from August 28 to 31, but it has been reported that he will now skip the fixture due to illness.

Even though Gill’s absence will be a big setback for the North Zone team, they still have the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Anshul Kamboj in their squad.

Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur and Ruturaj Gaikwad are part of the West Zone squad, whereas Kuldeep Yadav, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel and Deepak Chahar will feature for the Central Zone. Young left-handed batter Tilak Varma was named as South Zone captain, and Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has played more than 100 first-class matches, will lead East Zone.
