Sri Lanka have named a 17-man squad for the three-match T20I series to be played from September 3.

Sri Lanka have named their T20I squad for next month’s three-match series against Zimbabwe. Star allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga isn’t part of the squad having injured his hamstring during a T20I series against Bangladesh in July.
He was earlier also excluded from Sri Lanka’s squad for a two-match ODI series against Zimbabwe that precedes the T20Is.
It has also cast doubts over Hasaranga’s availability for the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE which starts from September 9.
With Hasaranga sidelined, Sri Lanka will rely on Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage to cover the spin department in the T20I series against Zimbabwe, as both players have been included in the 17-player squad.
Additionally, there is space for fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana, who was overlooked for the two ODI matches, while experienced all-rounder Charith Asalanka will captain the team in both white-ball series.
The majority of the T20I squad is seasoned, featuring players like Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis, and Dasun Shanaka, who have all had significant success in white-ball cricket.
The first ODI between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe begins on August 29, with the T20I series starting in Harare on September 3.
