In a video going viral on the internet, Rana can be seen getting engaged in a heated verbal battle with Digvesh Rathi during the Eliminator match of DPL 2025.

Nitish Rana lost his cool on Friday (August 29) and got engaged in an ugly fight with Digvesh Rathi. The clip of Rana getting angry and charging towards Rathi in an aggressive manner was shared by DPL’s official Instagram and X handles, and within seconds it went viral on the internet.
The brawl took place after both players played mind games against each other at the start of the over, but after Rana settled the battle by sweeping Rathi for a six, both the players exchanged some words which didn’t go down well with the left-handed batter, and he charged towards Rathi in an aggressive manner.
The players from both the teams and umpires had to intervene then to cool down the situation.

The incident took place during the Eliminator match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, which was played between the West Delhi Lions and the South Delhi Superstarz at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
In the do-or-die match for both the teams, Rana hammered Rathi for a four on the second ball of his first over and then on the next three balls smashed three back-to-back sixes.
In Rathi’s next over as well, Rana scored a four on the second ball and sixes on the third and sixth deliveries.
The 25-year-old spinner from Delhi, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the cash-rich Indian Premier League, conceded a total of 39 runs in his quota of two overs, and of those 39 runs, 38 were scored by Rana alone in 11 balls.
Apart from Rana, his West Delhi teammate Krish Yadav also got engaged in a heated verbal battle with South Delhi Superstarz players.
In an attempt to play a big shot, Krish was caught by Anmol Sharma on the first ball of the 11th over of the match bowled by Aman Bharti. After getting out, Krish first got engaged in a fight with Bharti and then with another South Delhi Superstarz player. Rana, who got involved in a fight with Rathi just a while ago, was seen playing the role of a peacemaker in the second fight.

Rana, who returned to Delhi before the start of DPL 2025 after representing Uttar Pradesh in the last two domestic seasons, remained unbeaten on 134 runs from 55 balls on Friday, and his knock, which included 8 fours and 15 sixes, helped West Delhi Lions chase down the target of 202 runs in 17.1 overs for the loss of three wickets and book a place in Qualifier 2.
In the second qualifier match of DPL 2025 on Saturday (August 30), West Delhi Lions will face East Delhi Riders, and the winner of this match will take on Central Delhi Kings in the summit clash on Sunday, August 31.
