Former New Zealand batter Colin Munro is playing for Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2025 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and on Sunday (August 31), he entered his name in the history books by becoming the first batter in the world to score 2500 runs for one team in the premier T20 competition of the West Indies.

The 17th league match of CPL 2025 between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on Sunday is Munro’s 79th match for the Trinidad-based team, and he now has more than 2500 runs to his credit.

In the list of batters with the most runs for one team in the CPL, Munro is followed by Evin Lewis. Lewis has amassed a total of 2446 runs in 103 CPL matches for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. West Indies’ Andre Fletcher has scored 2310 runs in 90 matches for St Lucia Kings, and Johnson Charles has 2231 runs to his credit in 76 CPL matches for the St Lucia-based team.

Most runs for one team in CPL

Munro has been on fire with the bat for Trinbago Knight Riders in this year’s CPL season. He kicked off the season with a century (120) against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on August 17 and then scored 44 and 43 runs against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and the St Lucia Kings, respectively. In the team’s last match, he hammered 67 runs against Barbados Royals.
