Lucknow Super Giants star batter Ayush Badoni is playing for North Zone in the 2025 edition of the Duleep Trophy, and on Sunday (August 31), during the fourth and final day’s play of the first quarterfinal match between North Zone and East Zone in Bengaluru, he has scored a double century. Badoni, who is also the captain of Delhi’s Ranji Trophy team, needed 222 balls to cross the 200-run mark. He has hammered 12 fours and three sixes so far.
Badoni, after coming out to bat at No. 4 in the second innings, first added 150 runs for the third wicket with captain Ankit Kumar, who made 198 runs from 321 balls, and then stitched a 157-run stand for the fourth wicket with Nishant Sindhu (68 runs from 91 balls).
The double century by Badoni on Sunday also helped North Zone take complete control of the match against East Zone. Their total lead is now over the 830-run mark, and they are confirmed to qualify for the semifinals.
