England will face South Africa in a three-match ODI series in front of home fans this week. Leeds is scheduled to host the series opener between the two teams on Tuesday, September 2, and the next two matches will be played on Thursday and Sunday at Lord’s and in Southampton, respectively. The English team will play under the leadership of star middle-order batter Harry Brook, who replaced Jos Buttler as ODI captain a couple of months back, and Temba Bavuma has been retained as the captain of the South African team.

South Africa suffered a humiliating defeat by 276 runs in the last ODI match played against Australia on August 24, 2025, in Mackay, whereas in their last 50-over match, England secured a win by seven wickets over the West Indies at The Oval on June 3, 2025.

Both teams have many top players in their squad, and they will be eager to come up with a big show with bat and ball to help their respective sides get the better of the other one and win the series.
