Mahanaryaman Scindia, 29, has been elected as president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (X)
Mahanaaryaman Scindia, son of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and member of the Gwalior royal family, has been elected President of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) at the age of 29. He is the youngest president of MPCA since 1957. His grandfather, Madhavrao Scindia, also served as MPCA president earlier.
Education
Mahanaaryaman did his schooling at Doon School, Dehradun from 2008 to 2014. In 2019, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from Yale University, US. He also studied International Relations and Affairs at the London School of Economics during a Summer School programme.
Work Experience
His professional journey began in 2014 with an internship at Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness Centre. He later interned at the Finance Ministry in New Delhi, Christie’s in London, UIDAI in New Delhi, SoftBank, and Macro Advisory Partners in New York. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as an associate with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Mumbai.
He has also served as director of Undersounds Entertainment and Jai Vilas Palace (2021–2024). In 2022, he launched Kuber AI and later founded Ithara AI in 2024.
Cricket Administration
In 2022, Mahanaaryaman became Vice President of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA) and a lifetime member of MPCA. In 2024, he launched the Madhya Pradesh T20 League. In 2025, he was elected MPCA President.
Royal Heritage
The Scindia family lives in the Jai Vilas Palace in Gwalior, estimated to be worth Rs 4,000 crore. Spread over 15 acres, the palace has more than 400 rooms. It contains 560 kg of gold, French and Persian artefacts, a silver chariot, and a silver train still used in the dining hall. Its chandelier is famously supported by a roof tested with the weight of eight elephants.
Business Ventures
In 2022, he co-founded ‘MyMandi’ with Suryansh Rana, a startup supplying fresh fruits and vegetables online. By March 2024, it had generated $2.33 million in revenue and was valued at $8.12 million, with $2.06 million in funding from Real Time Accelerator Fund and LetsVenture. Ratan Tata has also been one of its investors.
Mahanaaryaman has thus built his own identity alongside his family’s legacy, combining international education, business ventures, and now leadership in cricket administration.
