South Africa on Wednesday named a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, which will be held from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.
The squad will be led by Laura Wolvaardt, and includes the experienced quartet of Chloé Tryon, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka and Suné Luus.
Adding to the team’s strength are explosive batter Tazmin Brits, along with all-rounders Nadine de Klerk, Anneke Bosch, Annerie Dercksen, and Nondumiso Shangase.
The bowling department includes left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba, while Masabata Klaas and Tumi Sekhukhune provide seam options.
Meanwhile, young all-rounder Miané Smit has been named as travelling reserve.
South Africa wil begin its Women’s ODI World Cup campaign against England on October 3 and play its final league game against Australia on October 25.
Ahead of the global showpiece, the Proteas Women will warm up with a three-match ODI series in Pakistan, starting on September 16 in Lahore.
