India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has proved himself to be one of the most reliable clutch players for Team India over the years. He will be a key figure in the upcoming Asia Cup, which begins on Tuesday, and there are a few milestones that Pandya might aim to achieve during the tournament.
Ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to play for India in the Asia Cup, which begin from September 1

Sporting a new look, the all-rounder has been training in Dubai with the rest of his teammates

Hardik, who has played 114 T20Is so far since making his debut against Australia in January 2016, will be a key player for the Men in Blue in the tournament

Hardik will have a chance to create history. If the 31-year-old cricketer from Baroda manages to take at least six wickets, then he will become the first Indian and overall second cricketer in the world to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in T20Is.

Pandya has 1812 runs and 94 wickets to his credit. In T20Is, Pandya is India’s third-highest wicket-taker and fifth-highest run scorer.

He is closing in on the 2,000-run milestone in T20Is, as he needs just 188 more runs. The Asia Cup could provide the perfect platform for Pandya to reach that landmark.

Apart from Pandya, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi will also have a chance to join the 1000 runs and 100 wickets club in T20Is.

Nabi has played 132 T20Is for Afghanistan so far and has picked up 97 wickets in addition to scoring 2237 runs with the bat.
