Pakistan defeated Oman by 93 runs in the Asia Cup opener, with Mohammad Haris scoring 66 and Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf, Sufiyan Muqeem taking two wickets each.

Pakistan triumphed over Oman by 93 runs in their opening Asia Cup match on Friday.

Chasing a target of 161, Oman collapsed for 67 in 16.4 overs, with Hammad Mirza being the top scorer with 27 runs.

Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf, and Sufiyan Muqeem each took two wickets for Pakistan.

Earlier, Mohammad Haris scored an impressive 66 to help Pakistan set a total of 160 for 7 after opting to bat.

Wicketkeeper-batter Haris faced 43 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes, while opener Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman contributed 29 and 23 not out respectively.

For Oman, Aamir Kaleem (3/31) and Shah Faisal (3/34) each took three wickets, while Mohammad Nadeem claimed one.
