Indian spinners were at their clinical best as they helped their side to a comfortable seven-wicket win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on Sunday.

Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav led the line with a three-wicket haul, while Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy chipped in with two wickets apiece.

On the face of some attritional bowling, Pakistan failed to make an impact with the bat, eventually settling for 127 for nine after opting to bat.

India’s chase received an early lift-off through opener Abhishek Sharma, who blitzed his way to a 13-ball 31.

Abhishek’s efforts were followed up by skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, who put in a 56-run stand.

Suryakumar ended unbeaten on 47 as he finished the game off with a six against Sufiyan Muqeem in the 16th over.
