Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat by 7 wickets against India in the Asia Cup 2025 Group A match on Sunday, September 14. In the high-voltage match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan could only manage to score 127/9 after Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to bat first. Abhishek Sharma helped India get off to a flying start in the 128-run chase, and then Suryakumar Yadav (47*) joined hands with Tilak Varma (31) to help India successfully chase down the target in 15.5 overs.
The defeat in Dubai has now put Pakistan’s chances of qualifying for the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2025. The Men in Green will only qualify for the Super Fours if they beat the United Arab Emirates in their third Group A match and Oman lose at least one of their remaining two matches.
The match between Pakistan and UAE is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 17, whereas Oman’s remaining two Group A matches are scheduled against UAE in Abu Dhabi on September 15 and against India on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.
Remaining Group A matches
If Pakistan qualify for the Super Fours, then next Sunday (September 21), they will once again take on India. The Super Fours match between the top two teams of Group A is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
