The three 50-over matches between India A and Australia A will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not play for India A in the three one-day matches against the Australia A team. The BCCI took to X on Sunday, September 14, to announce the squads for the three matches which will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. RCB’s Rajat Patidar will captain the side in the first 50-over match scheduled on September 30, and Tilak Varma will captain the side in the next two matches.

The left-handed batter is not available for the first match due to his involvement in the Asia Cup 2025.

Delhi’s Priyansh Arya, who made headlines in IPL 2025 for his super show with the bat for Punjab Kings, is part of the India A squad for the first match. Tamil Nadu’s Gurjapneet Singh, Delhi’s Ayush Badoni, Mumbai’s Suryansh Shedge, Haryana’s Nishant Sindhu, Punjab’s Prabhsimran Singh and Bengal’s Abhishek Porel are picked for all three matches.

Like Tilak, Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh will also miss the first match but are picked for the next two games.

It was reported a couple of weeks back by the Hindustan Times that ahead of travelling to Australia for a three-match ODI series in October 2025, Rohit and Virat will play for the India A team in the three matches against the Australia A side.

Virat, who is India’s second-highest run-getter in ODIs, and Rohit, who is fourth on the leading run-getters list for the Men in Blue, last played a 50-over match for the two-time ODI World Cup winners on March 9, 2025. In the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit scored 76 runs to help India in the ICC trophy and also bag the Player of the Match award.
