Shaheen Shah Afridi remained unbeaten on 33 runs from 16 balls on Sunday. He hammered four sixes during his stay at the crease.

Shaheen Shah Afridi came out to bat at No. 9 for Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 Group A match against India and remained unbeaten on 33 runs from 16 balls. During his stay at the crease at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (September 14), the left-handed batter hammered four sixes. His attacking show with the bat in the last three overs helped Pakistan post a total of 127/9 against the Suryakumar Yadav-led side after Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to bat first.

The four sixes by Shaheen on Sunday helped him equal Misbah-ul-Haq’s record of hitting the most sixes for Pakistan in a T20I match against India. During the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup, Misbah also hammered four sixes against the MS Dhoni-led side.

All-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed also smacked four sixes against India in the 2022 T20 World Cup match played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, 2022.

Most sixes in an innings of a India-Pakistan T20I match

The overall record of hitting the most sixes in a T20I match played between India and Pakistan is in the name of Yuvraj Singh. The legendary all-rounder smacked seven sixes against Pakistan during his 72-run knock in Ahmedabad on December 28, 2012.

Apart from Shaheen, Sahibzada Farhan also hammered three sixes for Pakistan on Sunday. Of his three sixes, Farhan hammered two against Jasprit Bumrah. Farhan is the only Pakistani batter to hit a six in a T20I match against Bumrah.
