In the ongoing third India-Australia women’s ODI match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Mandhana crossed the 100-run mark in just 50 balls.
Smriti Mandhana entered her name in the history books on Saturday, September 20, by scoring the second fastest century in the history of women’s ODI cricket. In the third and final ODI of the ongoing three-match series between India and Australia at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the left-handed batter needed just 50 balls to cross the 100-run mark.
The world record for scoring the fastest century in women’s ODIs is in the name of former Australian captain Meg Lanning. Lanning scored a century in 45 balls against New Zealand in Sydney in 2012.
In the first half of the ongoing match at the iconic stadium in Delhi, Australia’s No. 4 batter Beth Mooney scored a century in 57 balls. She is now joint-third in the list of batters with the fastest 100s in women’s ODIs.
