India will face arch-rival Pakistan in its first Super Fours encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, just days after a convincing seven-wicket win in the Group Stage.

The first encounter was mired in controversy following India’s decision to stay away from the customary handshake during the toss and after the contest, which resulted in Pakistan threatening to pull out of its clash against the UAE.

The game went on, albeit with a delay of an hour, as Salman Agha’s men sealed their place in the last four with a win. India comes into the encounter after a foot-off-the-pedal win over Oman in its final group encounter.

The last meeting between the two sides in T20Is before the Asia Cup came at the 2024 T20 World Cup, where India came out on top by six runs in a low-scoring thriller.

Virat Kohli is comfortably the highest run-scorer in T20Is between India and Pakistan. Kohli has scored 492 runs in 11 innings against Pakistan at an average of 70.28. His highest score is his iconic unbeaten 82 scored at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the 2022 T20 World Cup.

This leaves Kohli comfortably clear of Muhammed Rizwan in second position, who has scored 228 runs at an average of 57 in five innings.

Pandya’s 13 wickets leave him just clear of Umar Gul and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar in second position. Both bowlers have taken 11 wickets, Gul at an average of 16.18 and economy of 8.27, and Kumar at an average of 17.18 and economy of 7.26.
