India and Pakistan cricketers were involved in heated verbal altercations during their recent meeting in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
Tempers flared during India’s Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2025 with Pakistan with cricketers from either side involved in heated verbal altercations. The war of words began off the very first ball of India’s chase after Abhishek Sharma smoked Shaheen Afridi for a stunning six.
Things came to a head towards the end of the fifth over when Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma were involved in a heated exchange with Haris Rauf. Such was the intensity that on-field umpire Gazi Sohel had to interfere.
A fresh clip of the incident has gone viral on social media which shows Rinku Singh dragging away Gill from the fight, preventing further escalation.
Rinku along with Harshit Rana, had rushed to the middle with refreshments for the two unbeaten India batters at the end of the over.

One-Sided Affair
While the players clashed, the contest was one-sided with India extending their domination over Pakistan in T20Is. After keeping their rivals to 171/5 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side chased down the target comfortably in 18.5 overs.
Abhishek kickstarted the chase with a first-ball six off Shaheen Afridi and struck 74 off 39 with the help of six fours and five sixes before being dislodged in the 13th over. Gill was equally destructive, hitting 47 off 28, an inning featuring eight fours.
Such has been India’s grip of these contests that Suryakumar suggested that it shouldn’t be called a rivalry anymore.
“I feel we should stop asking this question on (India-Pakistan) rivalry, whether a team plays good cricket or not,” Suryakumar said. “According to me, if two teams are playing 15-20 matches and if it is 7-all or someone is ahead 8-7, then that is called playing good cricket and that is called rivalry. 13-0, 10-1, I don’t know what the stats are. But this is not a rivalry anymore.”
