Shreyas Iyer will not be part of India A’s second unofficial Test against Australia A that begins from today in Lucknow.
Star batter Shreyas Iyer will reportedly not be part of the 2nd Unofficial Test between India A and Australia A starting September 23 in Lucknow. Iyer was appointed captain of the A side and in his absence, either Rajat Patidar or Dhruv Jurel could lead the team.
As per a report in Cricbuzz, Iyer has informed the BCCI of his decision and cited personal reasons behind him not being part of the 2nd fixture. The development puts doubts over whether he will be considered for selection for India’s upcoming two-match Test series with West Indies at home.
The publication also reported that India cricketers KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj have arrived in Lucknow for the 2nd Unofficial Test. They were named in the India A squad for the second fixture.
India A Squad: Abhimanyu Easwaran, N Jagadeesan (WK), Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (VC & WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Harsh Dubey, Ayush Badoni, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Tanush Kotian, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Khaleel Ahmed, Manav Suthar, Yash Thakur, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj.
