India secured its place in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 with a 41-run victory over Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Opener Saif Hassan’s 69 runs off 51 deliveries went in vain as Bangladesh fell short of its target of 169 runs. For India, Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, ending with figures three for 18.
In the first innings, Abhishek Sharma’s pyrotechnics put India on course for a mammoth total, with the side putting on 96 in the opening 10 overs. But Rishad Hossain’s acrobatic effort at point ran him out on 75 in the 13th over. The Bangladeshi bowlers regrouped and allowed India just 72 runs in the second half of the innings.
But Hardik Pandya’s 38 off 29 ensured India had enough on the board to defend.
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan on Thursday in a virtual semifinal, with the winner advancing to the title match.
