India faced a blow before the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup as Arundhati Reddy was injured and wheelchaired off during the England warm-up in Bengaluru.
India has suffered an injury setback ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, with fast bowler Arundhati Reddy being wheelchaired off the field during the warm-up game against England.
The incident occurred at the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 ground when Arundhati, during her follow-through, attempted to take a return catch off a powerful drive from former England skipper Heather Knight in the 13th over. Consequently, Jemimah Rodrigues came on to complete the 13th over.

Reddy, who had earlier dismissed England opener Amy Jones, seemed set to take a return catch from Heather Knight. However, she landed awkwardly on her left leg and fell to the ground.
Doctors quickly arrived on the field and tried to assist Reddy before a wheelchair was brought in to help the bowler off the ground.
Who Can Replace Arundhati Reddy?
If Arundhati is ruled out of the competition, India might consider selecting pacer Sayali Satghare, who is currently on the reserve list, as her replacement. Earlier, India drafted wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry to replace Yastika Bhatia, who injured her left knee during India’s preparatory camp for the World Cup in Visakhapatnam.
In the lead-up to the competition, India faced tension due to injuries to pacers. Renuka Singh Thakur was sidelined after the WPL 2025 due to a stress injury but managed to be fit in time for the World Cup, playing two games in India’s 2-1 series loss to Australia. India also had concerns over the fitness of pace-bowling all-rounder Amanjot Kaur, who suffered a flare-up of a previous back injury during the tour of England and had been training at the CoE to be fully fit for the World Cup.
