The first Test of the upcoming two-match series between India and the West Indies will be played in Ahmedabad from October 2 to 6, and Delhi will host the second Test.

The BCCI’s senior selection committee on Thursday, September 25, announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies. In the team picked for the first home series of the 2025-26 season, Shubman Gill has been retained as Test captain, and the majority of the players who featured in the five-match series against England have also been picked, but there was no place for Karun Nair.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has also been left out of the squad due to the foot injury that he suffered on Day 1 of the fourth India-England Test in Manchester.

Axar Patel is back in the Test team after more than 18 months. Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan and Dhruv Jurel are two wicketkeeper-batters in the squad.

Senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been named as the vice-captain for the home series in the absence of Pant.
