23-year-old left-handed batter Saim Ayub has scored six ducks in 20 T20Is played so far in 2025 for the Pakistan men’s cricket team.
Pakistan’s left-handed top-order batter Saim Ayub entered his name in the history books by equalling the record of scoring the most T20I ducks in a calendar year. The 23-year-old cricketer from Karachi, who scored three ducks in three Group A matches of the Asia Cup 2025 for Pakistan, got out for a three-ball duck on Thursday (September 25) against Bangladesh in Dubai.
Saim has six ducks to his name in 20 T20I matches played so far in 2025.
No other batter in the world has scored more ducks in a calendar year than Saim.
Most ducks in a calendar year in T20Is
In the Asia Cup 2025, Saim got out for a golden duck against Oman in Dubai on September 12, and on September 14, in the high-voltage Group A match between India and Pakistan, Saim got out for a golden duck once again. He was caught by Jasprit Bumrah on the first legitimate delivery of the match bowled by Hardik Pandya.
In the match between Pakistan and UAE in Dubai on September 17, Saim was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Junaid Siddique.

In the list of batters with the most ducks in T20Is for Pakistan, Saim now only trails Umar Akmal. Umar played 84 T20Is for Men in Green from 2009 to 2019 and scored 10 ducks, whereas Saim has nine ducks to his credit in 47 matches.

Even though Saim has failed to do much with the bat in the Asia Cup 2025, he has impressed with his bowling and has picked up six wickets so far. In the Group A match against India, he finished with figures of 3/35 in four overs, and against Oman on September 12, he dismissed two opposition batters for 8 runs.
