India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in the Asia Cup, reaching the final. Kuldeep Yadav won Impact Player of the Match.

Defending champions India maintained their unbeaten streak in the ongoing Asia Cup with a 41-run win over Bangladesh, storming into the final. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowlers on Wednesday night with remarkable bowling figures of 3/18 in 4 overs.

Kuldeep received the team’s Impact Player of the Match medal, presented by analyst Hari Prasad Mohan. In a video shared by the BCCI on social media, the analyst heaped praise on the left-arm wrist spinner for troubling the opponents with his variations.

“The Impact Player Award goes to someone who showcased serious skills with the ball. In the modern-day T20 cricket, not many players display spin, drift, and dip with such remarkable consistency. So, the award goes to none other than, Kuldeep Yadav,” said Mohan.

“Overall it was a good game. With the ball, Hardik and Bumrah were excellent. As spinners, our job was to control the middle overs and pick the middle-order wickets. We did well. The intensity was good and let’s carry the same in the next game,” Kuldeep said after bagging the ‘Impact Player’ medal.

Kuldeep became India’s highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined). He needed two wickets in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Bangladesh in Dubai to break Ravindra Jadeja’s record of 29 wickets, and he achieved the objective by dismissing Parvez Hossain Emon and Rishad Hossain.

Despite a mediocre batting show that limited India to 168 for six in their second Super 4 match, Bangladesh’s batting never had the wherewithal to chase down a gettable total and were bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs.

Though India managed a decent victory on Wednesday night, their batting order as well as their sloppy fielding were the massive talking points. The men in blue dropped Bangladesh opener Saif Hassan four times — the most by India against one batter in T20Is, ever.
