Haris Rauf to face ICC action for using abusive language during the Super 4 clash against India, following a BCCI complaint.
Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has landed in hot waters for his provocative gestures during the Super 4 encounter against India on September 21. The right-arm quick made the controversial ‘6-0’ gesture in front of the fans while fielding near the boundary ropes are going viral on the internet.
Before mocking the Indian fans, Rauf had a heated exchange with the likes of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill in the fifth over when the latter crunched a short-arm jab for a boundary against him.
Meanwhile the BCCI approached the International Cricket Council, lodging a formal complaint against Rauf on Monday.
According to PTI, Rauf pleaded not guilty during the ICC hearing on Friday. However, the pacer is set to be fined for using ‘abusive language and aggressive gestures’ during the game.
