‘Show Up In CSK MS Dhoni Shirts’: Alyssa Healy’s Appeal To Indian Fans For 2025 WC | Cricket News

Australia captain Alyssa Healy encouraged Indian fans to turn to the stadiums for their 2025 World Cup matches, if not in Australian kits then in Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s yellow jerseys with MS Dhoni’s name on the back. Healy joked that because the color is the same, yellow, it would be ‘nice’ to have it in the crowd.

None of the group stage matches will be in Chennai. Australia will play three of their games in Indore, two in Vizag, and two in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo. However, in the IPL, you don’t need to be in Chennai to find an MS Dhoni shirt in the crowd. From Punjab to Hyderabad, wherever CSK travels, they find locals who support Dhoni’s Men in Yellow over their state teams.

“I’d really like to encourage the Indian fans to show up in their Chennai MS Dhoni shirts because they’re yellow,” Healy said at the captain’s day press meet. “That would be great. Yeah, so show up in that, have some yellow in the crowd, that would be nice.”

Australia, like in every World Cup before this, comes here as the favorites. They have the most titles, seven, and the best squad in the world, even for foreign conditions in India.

However, Healy said her team’s efforts of maintaining the dominance are only getting more difficult.

“I don’t think it gets any easier,” Healy said. “I feel like you have labelled us favourites, so thanks for that. But I don’t necessarily think that’s the case. I think India in their home conditions are going to be really, really tough to beat, along with a couple of captains sitting alongside. So it doesn’t get any easier. I think this ODI World Cup is going to be one of the strongest ones that I have been a part of,” Healy said.

She added that her team would be far from complacent.

“I don’t think it’s quite in the Australian culture to get too complacent about things at any point in time. People tend to write more about us when we lose than when we actually win, so it’s quite a nice thing to experience. I feel like I’m part of a really special group at the moment that wants to be better every single day. That mindset is already in place, it just allows them to go out there and enjoy their cricket on the field. That’s basically as simple as it gets. We go out there, we compete as hard as we possibly can and hopefully the results go our way,” she said.
