Suryakumar Yadav’s viral post follows India’s unbeaten run to the Asia Cup final after a thrilling Super Over victory over Sri Lanka.

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s social media post a day ahead of the classic Asia Cup final against Pakistan has gone viral, after his team clinched a thrilling Super Over win against Sri Lanka to end the Super 4 stage on a high and go into the summit showdown unbeaten.

The Super Over belonged to Arshdeep Singh, who gave only two runs and got two wickets in five deliveries. The target of three runs was achieved in a single ball by Suryakumar.

During the chase, after Hardik Pandya dismissed Kusal Mendis in the opening over, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera launched a blistering counterattack, putting the Indian bowlers on the back foot for the first time in the tournament.

“Team effort 🇮🇳💙 Onto the final goal 🏆,” Suryakumar tweeted in the wee hours of Saturday, September 27.

Star India spinner Kuldeep Yadav returned figures of 1/31 in his four overs, delivering a solid performance by his standards, while Varun Chakravarthy matched him with 1/31 in four overs.

However, Harshit Rana (1/54 in 5 overs), Arshdeep Singh (1/46 in 4 overs) and left-arm spinner Axar Patel (0/32 in 3 overs) were smacked for a huge 132 runs across their 11 overs.

“It felt like a final (laughs). The boys showed a lot of character after the first half in the second innings. Told them to play this like a semi-final. Get everyone close in, have good energy and then let’s see what happens,” Suryakumar said while speaking at the post-match presentation.

Still, credit goes to Harshit and Arshdeep for delivering crucial dot deliveries when it mattered most.

Perera, with his short-arm pulls and lofted drives through the cover-extra cover region, thrilled the crowd as he attacked Arshdeep and the spinners alongside Nissanka, who continues to trouble India.

Pacers Arshdeep and Harshit have underperformed in the two games they have played till now in the tournament.
