The Asia Cup 2025 Final between India and Pakistan on Sunday was delayed briefly after a section of the lights stopped working at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
In the second innings, Shubman Gill was marking guard during the third over, bowled by Shaheen Afridi, when he walked towards the umpire to inform him about the malfunction.
The venue in Dubai does not have traditional floodlights. Instead, multiple lights are installed along the roof of the stadium, thus giving the name ‘Ring of Fire’ to the arena.
The lights resumed after a brief delay and India carried on with its run chase of 147 runs.
