The tournament will follow a challenging round-robin format, where all eight teams play each other once during the league stage before the top 4 sides qualify for the semifinals.

The action kickstarts on September 30 and runs till the summit clash on November 2.

The matches will be played at five venues across the two neighbouring countries.

Navi Mumbai’s Dr DY Patil Sports Academy ground has been allocated India’s matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh on October 23 and 26, respectively. The ground will be the venue for Sri Lanka’s league stage game against Bangladesh on October 20. It will also host a semi-final of the tournament on October 30.

Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium has five World Cup matches confirmed in its kitty, with India’s league match against 2017 winners England on October 19 being the headline act. India play arch-rivals Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 5. The venue plays host to all of Pakistan’s World Cup matches.

To attract more spectators and ensure the stands are packed with cheering fans during matches, the organisers have made the passes available at affordable rates, with the cheapest ticket coming at Rs 100 onwards in India and LKR 100 in Sri Lanka.
