Having racked up 309 runs in six outings, Abhishek is within touching distance of India batting legend Virat Kohli’s record of most runs for the country in a multi-nation T20I tournament. Kohli’s record has stood for nearly 11 years, with the former India captain having recorded 319 runs in six innings at the 2014 World Cup, where he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament during India’s runners-up finish.

Abhishek can even go further to break Phil Salt’s world record for the most runs scored by a batter from a Test-playing nation in a T20I tournament or series. He needs just 23 more runs to surpass Salt’s total of 331, which the England opener set against the West Indies in five T20Is in 2023.
