Kuldeep Yadav bowled four overs for India in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan and picked up 4 wickets for 30 runs. He opened his wicket account by dismissing Saim Ayub on the fifth ball of the 13th over and then picked up three wickets in the 17th over. On the first ball he accounted for the dismissal of Salman Ali Agha, who was caught by Sanju Samson, and on the fourth and sixth deliveries, removed Shaheen Shah Afridi and Faheem Ashraf. Both Shaheen and Ashraf failed to open their accounts.
The four wickets in the final helped Kuldeep extend his tally of wickets to 17 in the Asia Cup 2025. The 17-wicket mark in the 2025 Asia Cup helped him equal former Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis’ record of taking the most wickets in one edition of the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined).
Mendis played five matches for the Mahela Jayawardene-led side in the 2008 Asia Cup and picked up 17 wickets.
