Pakistan collapsed from 87/0 to 146 all out against India, with Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman shining early before Varun Chakaravarthy triggered a dramatic batting downfall.

A strong start, a disastrous finish.

It was the same old, same old for Pakistan’s batting order, which once again put up a horror show with the bat, crumbling against the likes of India’s wily spinners to slump to a meagre 146 by the end of their innings.

After a strong start from openers Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35), who put them at a comfortable 87/0 in 9.3 overs, before Farhan was dismissed by Varun Chakaravarthy.

But the rest of the batters couldn’t really make the most of the solid start from their openers. At one point, crossing 200 looked pretty straightforward, but things went downhill quickly as they lost 9 wickets for just 33 runs in the end and didn’t even manage to play out the full overs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the show with excellent figures of 4/30 in four overs, while Varun Chakaravarthy (2/30), Axar Patel (2/26) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) were also among the wickets after India opted to bowl first.

The collapse sparked animated reactions from fans and followers online, who took to the Men in Green, shaming and ridiculing them for their inability to contest better.

India now need 147 runs to win the match and lift the 2025 Asia Cup.
