Rinku said he just wanted to contribute to the team and is glad he had the opportunity to hit the winning runs. He also went on to mention that everyone knows he is a finisher and shares that it didn’t matter where the ball was pitched; he would have gone after it.

How India Beat Pakistan To Win Asia Cup 2025?

Even though it was Rinku, who hit the winning runs, it was Tilak Varma who starred in the chase as India clinched their second Asia Cup title in the T20 format.

India bowled out Pakistan for a modest 146 and successfully chased down the target of 147 with two balls to spare.

Varma’s unbeaten 69 off 53 balls was the highlight of the chase, complemented by Shivam Dube’s brisk 33 off 22 balls during a crucial 60-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav stood out with impressive figures of 4/30 in his four overs. Fellow spinners Varun Chakaravarthy (2/30), Axar Patel (2/26), and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) also played key roles as India opted to bowl first.

Pakistan’s innings started strongly, thanks to the opening pair of Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls), who put together an 84-run stand in under 10 overs.

However, the Indian spin trio of Varun, Kuldeep, and Axar turned the tide by swiftly taking several wickets, leading to Pakistan’s collapse, losing their last nine wickets for just 33 runs.

This victory marked India’s third win over Pakistan in this edition of the continental tournament, having previously triumphed in the league and Super 4 stages.

Brief Scores:

Pakistan: 146 all out in 19.1 overs (Sahibzada Farhan 57, Fakhar Zaman 46; Kuldeep Yadav 4/30).

India: 150 for five in 19.4 overs (Tilak Varma 69 not out, Shivam Dube 33).
