All-rounder Deepti Sharma overtook former international Neetu David to become India’s second-highest wicket-taker in women’s ODIs.
The off-spin bowler reached this milestone during India’s Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 opener against Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.
Deepti removed Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu before sending Kaveesha Dilhari back to pick her 142nd wicket in the format and breaking Neetu’s record. She later removed Anushka Sanjeewani to take her tally to 143 wickets.
