Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, the first Indian to score a century in T20 World Cup history, has expressed strong belief in wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who is currently facing a tough period. Raina thinks Samson can achieve a remarkable performance in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The T20 World Cup, which started in 2007, has seen nine editions so far. In its 19-year history, Raina remains the only Indian player to score a century in the tournament, having achieved this against South Africa in 2010. Raina believes that Samson has the capability to match this milestone.
Raina commented on Samson’s talent, stating, “Sanju has immense talent. If he gets full backing from the team management and finds his rhythm at the right time, he can recreate history for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup.”
