In the first warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Afghanistan defeated Scotland by 61 runs, led by Darwish Rasooli, who scored 84 runs off 46 balls. Meanwhile, Italy edged out Canada by 10 runs, and the USA lost to India A, scoring 200 runs.

Afghanistan Secures Win Against Scotland

Darwish Rasooli’s impressive innings helped Afghanistan to a 61-run victory over Scotland. He scored 84 runs from 46 balls before retiring, setting Afghanistan up for 184 runs for 6 in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Nabi contributed with a quick 34 runs off 16 balls and also shined with the ball. Several Scottish players started their innings well, but none surpassed 21 runs. Matthew Cross and Michael Jones both scored 21 runs before getting out, with Ziaur Rahman taking 2 wickets for 20 runs. Nabi recorded 2 wickets for just 9 runs in 2 overs, while Azmatullah Omarzai was the standout bowler with 3 wickets for 14 runs.

USA Falls to India A
