The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a strong 16-player squad for their upcoming white-ball series against England Lions in Abu Dhabi. The series includes three T20I matches followed by five ODIs, providing an opportunity for young players to showcase their skills against a strong team.
Prior to the series, a week-long training camp for the Pakistan Shaheens will take place in Karachi from February 11 to 17.
Shamyl Hussain has been named captain for the tour, leading both the ODI and T20I squads. Hussain has performed well for Pakistan Television (PTV) in the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025/26, both as captain and key batter.
Other notable players in the squad include Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, and Saad Khan. Maaz Khan, who earned the Player of the Tournament title in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars, adds strength to the batting lineup.
The squad also features promising U19 batter Sameer Minhas, known for his recent excellent form. He will be joined by his brother Arafat Minhas, who also excelled in the Emerging Asia Cup and ICC U19 World Cup. Rohail Nazir and Saad Baig will share the wicketkeeping duties, adding flexibility to the team.
The bowling department includes Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood, and left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem as the spinners. Fast bowlers Ali Raza, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Mohammad Salman, and Shahid Aziz will lead the pace attack.
The three-match T20I series begins on February 20, followed by the five-match ODI series starting February 27. Sarfaraz Ahmed will accompany the squad as mentor and manager.
