Netherlands all-rounder Bas de Leede aims to emulate Hardik Pandya during the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The 26-year-old appreciates Pandya’s performance under pressure. The Netherlands is grouped with India, Pakistan, Namibia, and the USA, and will play their matches in India and Sri Lanka. They recently beat South Africa in their last game in India.
De Leede and his team are focused on surprising larger opponents and maintaining consistent performance. He told PTI, “Recognizing our strengths and becoming more consistent in batting and bowling is essential.”
He discussed their preparations for the tournament, saying, “We held a training camp in Chennai, practicing on various pitch types to understand what works for us.”
As an all-rounder, de Leede wants to make significant contributions. “Making an impact in both innings is crucial. Staying composed whether one department shines or not is key. We plan before games, and I focus on executing those plans,” he added.
He believes the current squad has the potential for consistency. “Having played together for some time strengthens our performance,” he noted.
De Leede finds inspiration in Hardik Pandya. “I admire Hardik’s drive to be the standout player. He often helps his team win. India has many match-winners, so we must give our best throughout the 40 overs.”
