Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has named Abhishek Sharma as the most dangerous batsman in the world right now. He praised Sharma for his performance in the T20 format, noting his consistency over multiple IPL seasons is commendable.
“Abhishek Sharma is the most dangerous batter if we consider his current form. His consistency in the IPL is impressive,” Rishabh Pant stated during an interview on India Today’s Salaam Cricket.
Abhishek is set to represent India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Since his debut in 2024, he has scored 1,297 runs in 38 T20 matches, with an average of 37.05 and a strike rate of 194.74. His record includes two centuries and eight fifties.
Pant also expressed admiration for former India captain Rahul Dravid. “It’s important not to overthink things. I learned this from Rahul bhai; he taught me to stay grounded whether I score a hundred or a duck,” he remarked.
“It can be challenging to stay the same when emotions come into play. I strive to remain consistent. Scoring or getting out affects me deeply; it’s a tough feeling,” he added.
Pant’s position in white-ball cricket has become uncertain, as selectors are favoring KL Rahul for ODIs. In T20s, he faces competition from Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Jitesh Sharma.
