Will Josh Hazlewood play for Australia in the T20 World Cup 2026? Mitchell Marsh, the current team captain, is unsure about the situation. Cricket Australia has selected Sean Abbott as a traveling reserve to support Hazlewood.

The fast bowler has not joined the team in Sri Lanka for the group-stage games and is continuing his rehabilitation in Sydney due to an Achilles injury. Reports suggest that while Hazlewood won’t participate in the group stages, he might be available for selection in the later parts of the tournament.

Hazlewood suffered a right hamstring injury while playing for New South Wales in a Sheffield Shield match. During his recovery, he developed an Achilles injury, which also kept him out of the Ashes tournament. He last played in a match on November 10.
