Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru owner Vijay Mallya congratulated the RCB Women’s team after their successful WPL 2026 campaign, calling their achievement well-deserved and inspiring. Mallya noted that the team secured their second Women’s Premier League title, marking a proud moment for the RCB franchise.

“Heartiest congratulations to the RCB women’s WPL team. Two championships in succession. Well deserved and well won. Motivation to the RCB Men’s team as well to retain the trophy,” Mallya mentioned on X (formerly Twitter).

He recognized the team’s consistency and dominance over the season. His message also expressed hope that the women’s success would inspire the RCB men’s team to defend their title in their competition.

Last year, RCB ended an 18-year wait to win their first IPL title under the leadership of Rajat Patidar. They performed strongly throughout the season, culminating in a commanding victory against Punjab Kings in the final, which was a significant moment for the franchise.

The RCB Women clinched their latest WPL title in an exciting final that showcased their poise under pressure. Chasing a challenging target of 204, they faced a setback with the early loss of Grace Harris, but captain Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll led a powerful comeback.

Mandhana set a strong pace with an impressive 87 off 41 balls, while Voll supported the chase with a solid 79 from 54 balls. Their partnership effectively dismantled the Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack and kept RCB in control. Radha Yadav later finished the match to secure the win.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals had posted a robust total thanks to contributions from their captain Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored 57 off 37 balls, and Laura Wolvaardt, who added 44 off 25 balls before accelerating late with a quick 35 off 15. Despite the strong foundation, DC could not contain RCB’s attacking batting.

The victory was RCB’s second WPL title, following their first in 2024, further establishing their reputation as one of the most successful teams in the league’s brief history.
