The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup kicked off at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where two-time T20 champions West Indies defeated Scotland by 35 runs in their first match.
The highlight of the game was in the 17th over of Scotland’s innings. Romario Shepherd, who had previously given away 19 runs in his first two overs, made history by taking a hat-trick in a four-wicket over, finishing with five wickets.
Shepherd dismissed Matthew Cross with the second ball of the over, followed by Michael Leask on the third delivery. He then bowled out left-hander Oliver Davidson on the fourth ball, completing his impressive hat-trick.
