In a crucial Group B match at the SSC in Colombo, Zimbabwe’s bowlers dominated Oman, taking complete control in the 8th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. After choosing to bowl first on a pitch that supported both pace and spin, Zimbabwe limited Oman to just 103 runs, all out in 19.5 overs. While the seamers set the tone early, the standout moment was delivered by veteran player Sikandar Raza.

The most memorable moment of the first innings was the wicket of Wasim Ali, showcasing the experience gap between the teams. Coming in to bowl during the 7th over, Zimbabwe captain Raza needed only six deliveries to make his impact. On the last ball of the over, Raza bowled a classic arm ball that drifted in.

Ali, trying to stabilize a faltering innings, leaned forward with an open bat face, expecting the ball to turn. However, it drifted nicely and straightened off the pitch. Caught off guard by the pace and direction, the ball passed between his bat and pad, hitting the stumps and sending the off-stump flying. Ali was left stunned, departing with just 3 runs off 8 balls, leaving Oman in a tough spot at 27/5, effectively ending any chance of a good total.
