The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka has had a strong beginning on JioStar, marking the highest viewership on opening day for any ICC event across JioHotstar and the Star Sports network.
Viewership on JioStar’s digital and linear platforms increased by 59% compared to the 2024 edition, totaling 14.7 billion minutes on the opening day. This made it the biggest opening day in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. After India’s first match against the USA, JioHotstar achieved a reach of 101.9 million, which is an 81% rise from the 2024 edition.
The match between India and the USA significantly boosted viewership, with linear TV ratings up by 41% and digital reach rising by 98% compared to India’s first match in the 2024 World Cup against Ireland.
