Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh responded sharply to former Pakistani bowler Tanvir Ahmed after some comments made during Harbhajan’s time at the ILT20. Harbhajan pointed out Tanvir’s brief International career, which included only five Tests, two ODIs, and one T20I from 2010 to 2013. He questioned Tanvir’s qualifications to critique experienced players.
Tanvir is now a familiar face on Pakistani television, often sharing his views on the national team. However, his recent remarks ahead of the upcoming India versus Pakistan T20 World Cup match seemed to provoke Harbhajan. The discussion reportedly involved Usman Tariq, the Pakistani spinner known for his unique bowling style, which has sparked global debate.
The situation escalated when Tanvir made a statement that angered Harbhajan, prompting a strong response from the 43-year-old Cricket legend. Harbhajan’s reply aimed not only to defend his reputation but also to dismiss Tanvir’s comments as insignificant, adding tension to the already charged atmosphere around the upcoming match.
Here is what Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel:
“This video is for a tuccha insaan (petty human being), who’s said a few things about me. Ideally, I don’t even know who he is, but because I see that time and again, he does his drama on one platform or another. First, I want to know who this guy is. Do you even know him? His name is Tanvir Ahmed. He’s played some 3-4 matches for Pakistan, and he behaves as if he is Imran Khan, or Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis. Shame on you,”
Harbhajan firmly stated that Tanvir should stop mentioning his name. He emphasized that this warning also applies to all Indian cricketers, making it clear that Tanvir lacked the stature to comment on their careers.
Harbhajan Singh’s passionate response underscored his intolerance for personal attacks or perceived unfair critiques. As anticipation grows for the India-Pakistan match, his comments have intensified the rivalry narrative, bringing more attention to an already highly anticipated event.
