England captain Harry Brook has won the toss and chosen to bowl first against Scotland in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We prefer chasing because the outfield is quick and the pitch looks good. Our goal is to restrict them and chase down the target. Naming the playing XI early gives the team clarity. We were overly cautious against the West Indies. Tom Banton plays well against spin, and I’ll take on whatever role is needed,” Harry Brook stated.
Ireland captain Lorcan Tucker feels good about batting first.
“The pitch looks solid, and batting first is a good strategy. We see this as a chance to establish ourselves. Our players are capable, and we hope they perform well today,” he mentioned.
Scotland skipper Richie Berrington would have preferred to bat first. “It’s a good batting surface, and our ability to handle spinners in the middle overs will be crucial. England is a strong team,” he noted.
