Former India captain Rohit Sharma embraced legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram before the IND vs PAK match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The two shared a conversation during the pre-match ceremony. Rohit, serving as the tournament’s brand ambassador, also interacted with Indian players.

Rohit and Akram walked out with the T20 World Cup trophy alongside ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta and participated in a photo session.

Footage of their friendly moment gained attention on social media, especially since India has opted for a no-handshake rule with Pakistan players. India captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Salman Ali Agha at the toss.

Despite the prevailing tensions, Rohit and Akram exchanged greetings before the match commenced.
